February 2013:Young Drummer of the Year 2013 -

Congratulations Matthew Brown!

The inspiring final of Young Drummer Of The Year 2013 was held on February 3rd in Leamington Spa. Featuring 10 superb young drummers, the audience were treated to a very special event with an all star judging panel who concluded that Matthew should be awarded the title for 2013.

A name to now look out for, Matthew Brown joins a small but exclusive group of drummers who have come top at the annual event, and he follows them into the industry where they are now firmly established in their own right.

It has been a very tough year for the six judges, deciding on who will go through to the final ten to from the shortlisted 40. You should all be very proud of yourselves!

Young drummer of the year 2013 - The Top 40!

This year we’ve had over 400 entries and again the standard just keeps getting better, so well done to all that entered.

If you have made it into the final 40, keep an eye on this website where the final 10 will be announced soon. Also, if you are in the final 40, it is a VERY good idea to prepare a 200 word bio about yourself (in Word format), together with a good quality head and shoulder photograph of yourself. If you do reach the final 10 you will need to supply these items to us almost immediately.

The final 10 will be notified by email or telephone within the next 7 days.

A: We get over 400 tapes in. It’s impossible to offer feedback on individual entries - sorry!

Q: Can you tell me why I didn’t make it into the final 40?

A: Yes, because you were not as good as those who did get into the final 40.
